A Bernie Sanders Christmas Poem (After the last debate with Hillary and that other guy, Bernie sent me this poem and asked me to share it with all of you who support his campaign for president. I’m pleased to do so. It’s composed entirely of questions for good reason.   Merry Christmas!) Lemmie Ask Yah..! By The Bern Do you feel the Bern while I burn you? Do you follow me because you hate hate? Are you afraid that you hate too? Didn’t you know that this is your fate? Did you forget your head is full of sod? Did your mother leave your for another man? Did your priest take away your God? Did you think I was your superman? Why are you so stupid? Is it your choice? Are you even lucid? When did you lose your voice? Is there free food? Is there free sex? Are you that lonely dude? Are you cursed by a hex? Who will pay for your prison? Are you up for husky boyfriends? Will you cry during your invasion? Will your fantasi...

Hey Professor! What do you profess?

Communications Professor Mellisa Click University of Missouri No one pops out of a womb acting like a brat. It's a long, slow nurturing process by parents, teachers and  administrators  who are  themselves  brats.  When über liberal Harvard law professor, Alan Dershowitz starts eating his liberal children, then you know there is a problem in later day liberalism. As he recently told Business Insider magazine;  "The last thing these students want is diversity.  They may want superficial diversity, because for them diversity is a code word for 'more of us.' They don't want more conservatives, they don't want more white students, they don't want more heterosexuals."   (source:  http://www.businessinsider.com/alan-dershowitz-thinks-student-protesters-dont-want-true-diversity-in-colleges-2015-11 ) Queer, is it not? Our current malaise about student protests suppressing free speech on, of all places, college campu...

Allegory of the Mirror, the Mask, and the Mob

“Wise one, what is the true nature of politicians and the masses?” Sure. Thanks for asking. Imagine if you will a remote planet in a distant galaxy that went extinct long ago. Marginally intelligent beings once lived there for many millennia.  Their many accomplishments were impressive even by our standards. So were their defects. They went extinct long before their planet fell into its life-giving star. Compared to us these beings had crude even barbaric ways. They had ways of killing each other frequently. Some of these ways were called, ''accidents'. Some were called 'murder'. Some were called 'war'. None of these ways were thought to be very healthy, but they did them anyway being a covetous breed. They even had something called ‘execution’ where whole groups decided to kill a single individual being for a wide variety of reasons thought to be healthy for the whole group. They called themselves 'humans'. “It seems these beings were...

Does The American Dream Exist?

Image
Last evening, the Meddlesome Priest was invited to debate the question: “Does the American Dream Exist?”  Upon arrival his 15 minutes allotted time was inexplicably chopped to 10 minutes, and the other members of his affirmative team were batting for the other side. In reality, the debate event was a Bernie Sanders rally.  But it was all in good fun. And a good time was had by all. Here are my complete prepared remarks which I was not allowed to finish. Let them be written here for posterity. ____________________ Does the American Dream Exist? Debate: November 4, 2015 Santa Barbara City College Room PS-101, 5:30 pm For the affirmative: Professor Mark McIntire Prepared remarks: Mr. Chairman: Well. I’m delighted to defend the proposition ‘The American Dream Exists’. My argument is as un-nuanced as it is unapologetic. Tonight I get to practice what I preach in my Phil-111 course Critical Thinking and Writing course (good seats are still available i...
